The middle school students at Jemez Valley Public School have been garnering attention and admiration for their exceptional talents and unwavering commitment to robotics. Spearheaded by Coach Mr. Flaviano "Bobby" Medalle III. A significant boost with the receipt of a grant from the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES). This grant, requested by Coach Bobby, serves as a testament to the students' remarkable accomplishments and the school's dedication to fostering excellence
Many hours of diligence, tenacity, and an unwavering quest of perfection characterized their path to achievement. Motivated by a common love of robotics and technology, every team member gave the project their all, from late-night coding sessions to brainstorming sessions and prototype testing.
The students had a prime opportunity to exhibit their robots last May 1, 2024, at the Middle School covered court gym of Jemez Valley Public School. Among the talented participants were Arizona Goswick from 6th grade, Madison Benton from 7th grade, Naethan Jason Low from 8th grade and Natalia Shije. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, Naethan Jason Low proved to be an invaluable asset to the robotics team. His innovative approach to robot design and meticulous attention to programming intricacies. Arizona Goswick, armed with a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise, played a pivotal role in the design and construction of the team's robotic creations. Madison Benton had a unique blend of creativity and technical expertise, her out-of-the-box thinking and willingness to experiment led to the development of innovative solutions. Natalia Shije, amidst her hectic schedule preparing for graduation, she was able to juggle her academic, sports and extracurricular- robotics.
Mr. Bobby seized the opportunity to highlight the remarkable achievements of 6th graders in their science and technology class by showcasing their innovative use of Sphero robots. Among the standout students were Reyes Gomez, Kayla Medina, Ava Shije, Annalisa Trujillo, and Kylie Gachupin.
The future for robotics at Jemez Valley Public School is bright, promising, and full of potential. With a strong foundation established by dedicated educators like Coach Mr. Flaviano "Bobby" Medalle III and enthusiastic student participation, the trajectory of robotics education is set to soar to new heights.
